Cousin's Playdate- October 14, 2010

Over the weekend, my brother, Aaron, and his family were in town. Aaron was planning on going hunting all weekend, but before they left, he wanted to take his wife, Allyson, on a date. They brought my nephew Russell over for a play date while they were out and Grant gave me some big laughs as he interacted with his cousin.
I think we might be doing him a big disservice by keeping his contact with other people so limited and restricted. He doesn't have a lot of kids over to play because of the germ issue and it was apparent when he was playing with Russell. Russell is eight months old and is crawling, pulling to stand, and cruising furniture....just like Grant! Grant was very cautious of this new little creature in his environment. Everytime Russell would babble, Grant would scurry over to me to make sure he was "safe". Russ would accept a toy that Grant brought to him, but when Grant didn't have it immediately returned to him, he would pucker up and start to whine. Russell would make a sudden move with his arms and Grant would crawl away from him as fast as he could. It was hysterical to watch, but I called Kyle and told him we had a problem. We were raising a sissy! By the end of the weekend, Grant was excited to see Russell and wanted to be close where he could watch him, but he still kept a healthy distance most of the time.

All grant needs is a sibling or two and he'll get over it. Ha!! NO PRESSURE!!
Grant just continues to get more and more handsome. You guys are doing a fabulous job with him!!

Hmm...Grant sounds like Snoopy - not sure what to make of strangers, but intrigued. Maybe you should see if Russell will give Grant some turkey and a belly rub. That's what we do with Snoopy to get him excited for something... ;-)

Super funny. I'm sure he'll adjust in time. :)

So funny! Grant will get there. And I don't think any kid that has been through as many surgeries as he has can legally be called a sissy. I'm sure there's a law against it...somewhere.
