We have been a little nervous to take Grant to the cabin this year since elevations are a potential danger for kids with chronically low oxygen saturation levels. We finally made our first trip of the summer with my parents a few weeks ago. Grant did great. His energy was great and he was in heaven with a 4 wheeler to ride (sorry... forgot to take a picture!), rocks to throw, and wildflowers to pick. We took a quick run into the park one afternoon and though we only went in a few miles, it was far enough to get to the river where we could look at the elk and cranes which are always in the meadow. More importantly, Grant got to find some rocks on the trail and practice his throwing skills.
Grandma and Grandpa were given the assignment to go and look for rocks since Grant was emptying his bucket faster than we could refill his supply.
In all, it was a great afternoon! We love living close to such an incredible area and enjoy being able to "run into the park" for a quick picnic.
