Canyon Lake and Dolly

I am a little behind on these posts. Oh well.
On our last full day in Arizona, Kyle's dad, Bruce, wanted to go and take a "nature cruise" on the Dolly Steamboat at Canyon Lake. We headed up that morning and found that the drive to through the mountain was very windy (not good for me since motion sickness is my constant driving companion), but luckily we all made it in one peace. The lake was beautiful. We lined up for our tickets and discovered that we were probably the youngest family on the boat that day. There was a group from a local assisted living center, and a few groups of elderly women on a ladies trip. The people watching was hysterical since the "cruise director" made sure to egg on these older ladies and they were all drinking plenty of alcohol which made them loud and boisterous.

Grant got to "steer" the boat which we had to coach him the entire 2 hours to do. At least the picture is cute!

We sat inside next to the air conditioner and laughed at the geriatric group. We did get to see some Big Horn Sheep in the canyons as well.
Grant enjoyed running from the outside deck back to the inside and trying to make friends with the only other kid on board... a six year old little girl who wasn't terribly impressed with him. Our boy really has a thing for older women and all the little girls at church feed his ego, so it is funny to watch when other people don't just gush over him!

This is the end of my pictures from our week in Arizona. We had a great time and have now been home for a few weeks and back to reality. Thanks again Bruce and Jerolyn for spoiling us rotten and keeping us busy and entertained. We had a great time!!
